Miuccia Prada and Miu Miu Prada designed the costumes for The Great Gatsby

Miuccia Prada worked with costume designer Catherine Martin over 40 looks for the summer to create

spectacular 3-D "The Great Gatsby", each inspired by designs from the Prada and Miu Miu archives, with

designs that take the form of shimmering dresses with crystals , fringe and sequins in shades of emerald,

jade, topaz and gold covers.

Velvet and fur luxury fabric selected appropriate given the excess part of the year 1920 together.

The creations were worn by film star cast, Carey Mulligan, and in two scenes of memorable parties "epic" the

Gatsby residence.

In fact, the Italian designer was approached to assist in the design of pieces of the costumes in the film

after some Miu Miu and Prada were taken inadvertently during the test scenes. Prada itself admits that the

lure of working with director Baz Lurhmann in this project by the ease with which his creations also comes

equipped with trendy twenties, as if they were designed at that time in mind (if not) in fact.

For example, in 2010 Prada was "shine dress" worn by Mulligan from the spring / summer drawn.

"That's interesting., The view can things change so much," Miuccia Prada said.
Yes, probably a few clothes [] had this kind of edge, but almost none have been designed so that when I

score. I'm really fascinated by it.

"Modern classics to find Baz and Miuccia always release their joint fascination and historical references

chains of the past," Martin said.
This compound is the heart of our relationship with Miuccia Prada on The Great Gatsby, and connected with

his vision.

"Our collaboration with Prada reminiscent of the European style, developed from the ground on the East Coast

aristocracy in the twenties," Martin said. "The fashion of the time, the development of a dichotomy between

those who saw aimed at the privileged, looking Ivy League rich Long Iceland and those who sought to European

glamor, elegance and decadence. Notice collaborations with Prada reflect the collision of these two

aesthetics."

Luhrmann and Prada worked together, creating the suit Leonardo DiCaprio in the 1996 film version of Romeo +

Juliet director.

While maintaining the authenticity of the original clothing 20 years it was important to both Martin and

Luhrmann, the idea of the public was the story again also an important factor.

"Baz described to me the music in this modern version of Gatsby and he said:" We need to get the audience to

feel how it felt to have to listen to jazz for the first time at a party, "she says.
You must feel like sparkling, unusual, new and dynamic, these things are, it must be a thrill for the new

people to really understand what it really was like to be there in the twenties.
