Oklahoma City fashion icon dies
Long charm Oklahoma City owner Ruth Meyers died at 21:30 Sunday at his home, after a short illness.
Meyers in 1975 Ruth Meyers Inc. opened in 6471 Avondale walk Nichols Hills Plaza, where she was until three years ago when she sold Cindi Shelby, a former employee of 21 years.
"Ruth was a champion of women civically and personally," Shelby ", and truly ahead of his time as a woman with her own business."
Clinton native, Meyers attended the University of Oklahoma, before opening his own business, worked downtown and Balliets Kerr Department Store.
"She had no formal training in the field of fashion, but it has a natural talent amazing," said Saul Charlet, who worked for 28 years as a personal assistant and manages the store Meyers Ruth Meyers.
Meyers served on the board of Ballet Oklahoma, Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation and Children was the wife of the Girl Scout in 1992, as well as business woman Registration Journal of 1986. She was awarded the Red Rose for his support of the Junior Hospitality Club.
She brought a lot of benefit designers, including Pamela Dennis and Pauline Trigere in Oklahoma City for trunk shows and fashion shows plans.
Survivors are three son AG Meyers and Chris Meyers Oklahoma City, Houston and Walker Wilson.
No respect for her mother, who shares his birth family, AG Meyers said. "She never expressed her age, and with his doctors," he said.
Services are waiting for Friday Christ the King Catholic Church, where Meyers is a member. Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper is handling funeral arrangements.
